5 out of 5 stars good deal   November 16, 2009

This thing went together easy and is solid. No problem sitting on corners. Can do a running jump onto bed and no creaks or movement. I'm 6'2" and about 220 lbs to give you and idea. Looks clean to. At $150 bucks it's a good deal.

good value but beware that it is cheap, hard to lift up without stripping the screws so assemble it where you want it. but great value and the base is very sturdy

I'm overall satisfied with the bed frame. It's sturdy enough and came w/out defects. It is 100% particle board however (minus the astetic trim which is actually cardboard), so do not plan to make any home moves after constructing ... it will break.

Things to note -
1. 98% particle board.
2. Requires 2 or more people to construct.
3. The instructions are ambigious, confusing, and misleading.

Prepair to be 125% smarter then the instructions or a disasterous assembly.

Beware of that the instructions fail to say which way the boards must face/ stand. That they fail to identify all the measuring scraps. That they fail to illustrate how the bed should appear in some immages--hinting that one side of the top slates may be augmented further then the other. This is not the case. The bed should be square and even on all sides.

4 out of 5 stars Affordable and looks great!   July 1, 2010

I bought this bed because I was redecorating my guest bedroom and I think it looks great! It took a while to put together and it was very difficult to move so you might want to set it up in the area that you are going to keep it. Keep in mind that it IS particle board. When I first got the package in the mail, one of the boards was broken so I called customer service and they were extremely friendly and helpful, they shipped a new board to me free of charge. The directions say not to use a power-drill, but I did near the end and it went a lot quicker (you just have to be very careful).
All in all, it's a sturdy, affordable bed that is a little time consuming to put together.

4 out of 5 stars Solid Product, Minimal Assembly Time   August 20, 2009

Much like the other piece of South Shore furniture I wrote about, this bed frame is a solid and not so fancy furniture piece. Easy to put together, but HEAVY and bulky enough to give backaches. There is a lot of screwing involved in this assembly (haha), and it can really take a toll on your wrists and forearms (again, haha). After about 2 hours, I was almost done with its construction. It has a pleasant look and does not dominate the room, and is about 10 inches off of the ground. I have a 10 inch foam mattress that will go on this, so I am sure it will be well above ground for normal sleeping.
